Minimalist Wristwatch Inspired by Saturn

In addition to the Saturn Clock, Marko Vuckovic have designed the Saturn Watch, a wristwatch inspired by the planet Saturn. Here is the description from the designer: "Typical clocks have the same boring look with three needles, each representing the second, minute and hour hand. The needles move in the same manner, and reading time also does not vary from one clock to the other, it fairly remains the same. Not any more! I was inspired by the planet Saturn and I designed a watch named The Saturn. The Saturn Watch has been crafted in a simple yet elegant manner. It consists of a base which has 12 digits placed on it like any other timepiece. Further, the base is enveloped with two disks that have perforated holes crafted on them. Both the disks turn around in a clockwise manner. The holes in the round plate aptly reveal what time of the day we are in. As against everyday clocks, only the digits representing the present time are revealed and the rest remain concealed under the disk." [via]

Simple Wall Clock Inspired by Saturn

Typical wall clocks have the same boring look with three needles, each representing the second, minute and hour hand. The needles move in the same manner, and reading time also does not vary from one clock to the other, it fairly remains the same. Not any more! Marko Vuckovic was inspired by the planet Saturn and he designed a clock named The Saturn. The Saturn Clock has been crafted in a simple yet elegant manner. As against everyday clocks, only the digits representing the present time are revealed and the rest remain concealed under the disk. When dusk sets in and the surroundings turn dim, backlight wedges in the Saturn Clock switches on robotically, which makes it easy to read time. The Saturn Clock with its plain looks will make the wall it is hung on very attractive. [via]

The Bullion: LASER-Light Wall Clock

The Bullion Wall Clock by Eric Wang clearly and artfully displays the time with an array of precision lasers. Three concentric stainless steel medallions are stacked upon each other. The topmost medallion is stationary and houses a circular array of laser pointers to demarcate the hours on the wall surface. The middle and bottom medallions both rotate, and each houses a laser pointer that indicates the minute and hour hands respectively. A gentle inward tapering on the side faces angle the lasers towards the wall surface. The unit is mounted to a wall using the included magnetic wall mount attachment. Like a large button, once mounted the unit can be turned on and off with a gentle press on the face.

From the designer: “There is something very fascinating about an object that eludes immediate understanding. Its function hidden in an enigmatic form, it teases you to engage with it. You want to understand what it is and what it does, and only by interacting with it does it reveal its function. For me, this is a very interesting psychological effect in design.” [via]

Orb Clock: A Mystical Table Clock

The orb clock designed by Sejoon Kim is a table clock which is embodied astronomical objects in the passage of time. The orb clock has the look of the clock body that is in the air and makes an impression of mystic as if it is in the universe. Two small spheres that revolve around the clock body indicate an hour hand and a minute hand.

On the back of the orb clock, there is a fastening device between the clock body and transparent shade. A center shaft of clock movement meets with the transparent shade and is fixed by threaded fastener so that gives a feeling like it floats in the air when it is shown from the front. This clock movement is also fixed inside the body. The movement uses a reversed clock mechanism. [via]

A Superior Bracelet Wristwatch Concept

Round-the-Clock is described by its designer, Ben Kőrös, as a superior bracelet wristwatch concept that is elegant but at the same time communicates that the wearer likes things just a little bit different – thus adding that personal touch to a black-tie milieu. Both a piece of jewellery and a useful wristwatch, Round-the-Clock tells the time via subtle rotating bands. The concept is more or less similar with Ring Clock: Time-telling Jewelry Concept by Szikszai Gusztav.

The three 'clock-faces' are, in fact, bands on which the digits are printed. They rotate around the wearer's wrist. The actual time can be read off the top, between the ends of the black mark. The materials used make the product were selected for elegance and neutrality, combining the concepts of a simple jewel and a useful watch. The surface is made of brushed stainless steel, the black mark is anodized aluminium, and there is an inner rubber ring for wearing comfort. The watch has no buttons; it synchronizes from external time sources, such as atomic clocks and GPS satellite signals. [via]

Ninja Time: Funny Watch Concept

Ninja Time is the new watch concept designed by Ukrainian designer Andy Kurovets. It doesn’t have dial but two digital eyes that display the hours and the minutes. Left eye stands for hour hand, and right one for minute hand. With the time goes by, you can see the robot changing its facial expressions. The dials controlled by the ninja’s “ears” so you can set the time whenever you like. The entire casing is made from molded plastic and dedicated to framing them in a way that looks assuredly ninja in style! The Ninja Time is available in blue, white or orange versions. It looks very funny! [via]

Ring Clock: Time-telling Jewelry Concept

The Ring Clock is a mechanical jewelry concept uses three rings to tell the time and date with the numbers illuminated from behind. Szikszai Gusztav of Hungary won NVArt Special Prize for Best Product Visualization with this concept. What I really like about the Ring Clock is that it is designed simple, with the clock aspect integrated into the ring’s band. The ring rotates as time goes by, and thus showing the current time. But, I think this futuristic clock will be better without the seconds that makes the ring rather wide and consumes more energy. [via]

Colorclock: Changing Gradient Watches

The young designer Maxim Mezentsev offers measure time with the help of flowers. He created a new concept: the clock hands and numbers are absent, instead of them – a color screen. "Waking up at five minutes to green, to make an appointment in half yellow and get home to purple," – this is not an excerpt from a fairy tale. It is this perspective offers the conceptual clock Colorclock. Each color corresponds to a particular hour, for example, red – is 16.00, Purple – 20.00, green – 8.00, and orange – 14.00. In most cases the screen will be painted Colorclock part in different colors, showing a minute.

To learn how to use this contraption a invention, you need to learn to match colors and time. And in case suddenly forget, there is little hint in the form of a scale division, located on the side – where there is usually a wheel for mechanical plant. Taking a look here, you can easy visibility of displayed minutes. The main thing is to, be careful. But it is much more interesting to learn to trust the color. [via]

Modern and Minimalist LED Wall Clock

Designed by Uttam Banerjee, the ZEIT Clock blends the analog with the digital technology. It's a LED based clock where the display is reflected on the wall. It can run on a battery as well as can be directly plugged in to a 2-pin AC socket. The minimalistic design makes it elegant. Zeit is more like a sculpture than a clock. It blends the analog and the digital technology in a very minimalistic way. Besides its hands showing the time, it also displays the time with the LED reflection on the wall. This feature makes it more interactive. When the two hands are on top of each other, the time is reflected only through the bigger hand (like as in case of 12 PM / 12 AM). Minimalist and futuristic, the ZEIT Clock is certainly a conversation piece. It makes a striking statement that is only suitable for homes that are just as minimal in decor. [via]
