The conventional glue sticks with twisting mechanism could cause some inconveniences that people may not even have realized. It is requires both hands even though this kind of office supply would be used in busy environment. Then the existing common glue sticks have an opportunity to be changed their mechanism in a way that is handier than before. The core concept of the “glue block” by Sejoon Kim is using only one hand and extracting glue more conveniently. The “glue block” adopts a pushing mechanism so that it makes more sense that people use their only one hand rather than using both hands. In other words, the “glue block” induces people to perform a specific action, using one hand. With a change from conventional round and twist-up glue stick tube, the form of solid glue changes from round to hexagonal design. The “glue block”, in the form of brick, enables users to apply the glue accurately even around the corner and to keep it on the desk safely. [via]
