Sliced Badminton designed by a team from Jiangnan University changes the way that shuttlecock materials are organized and packaged. The cone part is formed from a segment of a corrugated plastic disc, which is packaged separately from the base. Each plastic disc contains three cone segments. After the disc is torn apart, each segment can be rolled into a cone shape, and stuck together (with pre-applied adhesive) where the edges meet. Once the cone has been attached to the shuttlecock base, it is ready to use. The sheets and base components are easy to carry without damaging the cone. This makes Sliced Badminton a durable, more environmentally friendly, and cost-saving creation, bringing badminton lovers a brand new experience. Sliced Badminton presents a new way to manufacture and package shuttlecocks. It addresses the common problem of cone damage during transportation. [via]
