A Zheijang University team of designers, including Prof. Ying Fangtian, Xu Wei, Meng Luhua, Shen Yuebo, Liu Yi and Pang Shengli, has come up with a concept dustbin that can expand like an accordion to collect a fair amount of garbage. The extremely flexible dustbin, dubbed as X° Dustbin, unfolds itself to create sufficient space to accommodate rubbish. Its storage capacity can be increased as necessary to suit the volume of rubbish. It makes an overflowing bin a thing of the past. In addition, it can adapt to any kind of wall or corner. X° Dustbin is cheaper and easier to transport than ordinary dustbins because of its compact size when compressed. [via]
