Claw-in-hammer designed by Ko Taehun separates itself from other ordinary hammers in structural and safety terms. While claw hammers traditionally expose their claw, Claw-in-hammer sets it within the frame of the hammer’s head. The claw is double-ended, so the traditional pointed claw ends no longer exist. Instead, the tool has two hammering faces. The claw groove was designed to fit various nail sizes, from the smallest to the biggest. The hammer face is composed of steel. Urethane rubber is applied for the grip. Claw-in-hammer awarded by Reddot Design Award 2012 in Workplace category for its smoother curves and a less ‘frightening’ image in comparison to a traditional claw hammer. [via]
